The Cost of Geneva Airport Ski Transfers Continues to Be Cut

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Coming from the airport to your snowboarding domain was never easier.

Nowadays there are a range of airport transfer companies based from Geneva, this has meant the price of Chamonix transfers being reduced significantly.

It is no longer the case that there were only a handful taxi operators to choose from.

At present the holiday maker has a number of choices, with well nigh all airport transfer companies operating a number of shiny taxis.

Especially if you are staying in the Chamonix valley then a transfer could take just one hour, and cost as little as 25 Euros.

The speed of the transfer, and the cheaper costs of transfers Geneva to Chamonix, has entailed that skiing weekends are increasingly more popular as skiers decide to take less time off work, but all the same wish to enjoy their skiing holidays.

Ski weekends are set to remain popular as people are keen to go on a snowboarding trip, but aren’t keen to book a whole seven days off work in part due to the economic crisis.

Another benefit of lower Chamonix transfer costs is that the prices of ski vacations goes on falling.

Snowboard rental is surely more reasonable than it used to be in seasons past, especially if you take the option to book on line before heading out skiing.

Although the lowered value of the pound sterling compared to the euro means things are dearer in the ski town, if you are booking a catered chalet holiday then most of the break is already paid for in pounds before your arrival.

Diagnosing Cancer of the Mesothelium Means Medical Tests

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Cancer of the mesotheliumis known to have a few primary symptoms. The primary symptom of pleural mesothelioma is shortness of breath caused by pleural effusion ” the increase of fluid in the membrane, or pleura, around the lung. The second most common symptomis chest pain due to the tumor invading the chest wall. Other symptoms may include weight loss, fatigue, and night sweats

The most common sign of patients with abdomen mesothelioma, which originates in the abdomen, is the swelling of the abdomen because of fluid accumulation (ascites), abdominal pain, and bowel obstruction.

It is key to understand that these symptoms could be caused by a myriad of diseases or conditions. However, if you have been exposed to asbestos and have these symptoms, you should visit a doctor.

Pleural mesothelioma is difficult to diagnose, because many symptoms are also associated with less serious conditions. Symptoms typical for mesothelioma:

  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest or lower back pains due to accumulated fluid in the pleura
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Raspy voice
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Coughing up blood

One should not self-diagnose themselves. One suffering from any of the above symptoms should see a doctor and remain calm. Performing a biopsy is the standard way to confirm the condition. A pathologist takes a small tissue sample from the suspected area and examines the biopsy which results in a very precise diagnosis. Biopsies are generally not painful.

CT scans (Computed Tomography) are an option to avoid a biopsy. This is an X-ray procedure where a scanner is moved around the body to snap cross-sectional pictures. A patient might have to ingest a dye to help define the pictures. CT scans might be advantageous because of their simplistic and non-invasive nature, and they are considered an effective way of diagnosing the disease. Beliefs vary whether a biopsy or scan is more cost-effective. If irregularities are detected, a biopsy may also be needed to know if the abnormality is a tumor, and if thats the case, if its malignant or benign. Diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma is also possible by looking for cancer cells in a sample of fluid from the pleura.

Mesothelioma can also be screened and then diagnosed by any of these methods. Screening is when patients who may suspect they are at risk are tested for the condition without displaying any symptoms, to catch the cancer early or to make sure the patient is not otherwise in danger. Patients who have in their past inhaled asbestos, should be screened for mesothelioma.

Book the Date Using Great Expectations Phoenix

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

I’m not the kind of cheesball single man, comfortably interested in being without a date instead of living it up with friends. I’d wager you haven’t witnessed me post on great dating and relationships. That’s just me for ya.

Idleness is an unfortunate quality and entirely missing from my behavioral makeup. But I do have a tender heart. Here’s the situation, I had no choice but to squelch a 3-year relationship and I felt a great deal for but truly carried on to nowhere. Therefore somone might say its been a few years since I was dating. I don’t hold the great expectations for dating I held years ago.

Living free and single isn’t bad. I know one thing, I won’t stay in undisturbed, devowering Two and a Half Men episodes off the torrents. The real factor behind this bout of weekend dating lameness? We’re not in high school, and everyone else is boring.

My accomplished hunting friend, Andrew, who doesn’t know the meaning of dating boredom, sympathized because he is currently somewhere he can relate. He introduced me to this Dallas dating service called Great Expectations. Of course, I enjoy mingling among new singles who share my passions. Go figure, I decided to make a change and I’m now a satisfied member.

Be honest, ya can’t complain due to going dateless when ya haven’t stepped off the bench. As our senior year football coach Paul Jennings snuck into conversation between war stories, “You’re complaining to the competition, stupid.”

Coach was crazy, and a little out of touch. Still, Coach was right in a round about way. He meant well to everyone. The care-free Dallas matchmaking service I joined might have blown the old man’s noggin’.

At yesterday’s Great Expectations dating events I shared a great evening with some insightful and attractive women that catch my interest. I truthfully had a carefree night with some terrific enjoyable men and women. Went home following an exchange of digits, in addition to the fact that I grew some social networking connections for my job. Success.

Take action. Can’t win if you sit the bench. Listen to me and believe in your own great expectations for for your own good.

Frankly,

Caleb

Event Tickets Much Easier To Obtain Thanks To The Internet

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It’s forever been tough to get your hands on a ticket for a sports event of music gig. For example, the whole 2007 tour of the England saw Manic Street Preachers sell all their tickets in less than an hour. How does an individual who’s at work while the tickets go on sale in reality get a ticket?

Go to the resale market online.

It used to be the case that the only method to buy a resold sports or music gig ticket was through a tout at the event itself. This inevitably meant getting ripped off, or even possibly being handed bogus tickets which would likely be identified as such as you entered the gig – and that means you miss the game or concert while wasting your wonga by being conned.

Nonetheless, the situation has improved for sports and music lovers. The resale ticket market has improved remarkably in the last 10 years or so, thanks to the internet. Now there is so much competition to resell tickets online, the industry has become self-regulating. Your tickets don’t have insurance? I’l get that ticket somewhere else! Many vendors offer very cheap insurance if the sports event / music gig is cancelled. And with strong competition online, secondary tickets have dropped in price to the stage that it can sometimes be you’re not spending a lot more than the face value price. Many ticket purchasers compare prices between lots of vendors selling resold tickets for the same concert / event. They check the prices, seating, insurance, and even history of the vendor prior to deciding to purchase or not – so the power has very much transferred away from the dodgy tout of days gone by to the ticket purchaser.

Nowadays you can get tickets for all kinds of concerts and sporting events. From soccer to basketball matches to cricket, to getting your hands on front row seats for a world famous band; resale tickets offer a 2nd chance to go to the concert you want to go to. How can you acquire tickets on the web? Use a search engine like Google and key in your keyphrase like Jonas Brothers tickets, and you’ll discover a huge array of secondary ticket agents who can offer that ticket to you.

Not all people are happy with the idea of resale tickets though. Some people label secondary ticket vendors as leeches, and desire to see the forbiddance of resale tickets. They don’t seem to see the worthwhile service secondary tickets bring : there are people who simply do not have the time to line up for tickets.

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Rookies with entrepreneurial dreams got a much-needed boost as the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce launched its new Property Assist Programme recently. A unique initiative to promote business start-ups, the scheme will provide affordable office spaces to young entrepreneurs at the Omnia One and Quadrant office spaces.

The Property Assist Programme, devised by the Chamber in coordination with its property associates, provides both short and long-term lease contracts tailor made for young businesses. The principal motive behind introducing the scheme was to encourage more and more young entrepreneurs to implement their business plan and make their first step easy by setting up their office.

Located at Sheffield City Centre, adjacent to the Sheffield Parkway, Omnia and Quadrant enjoy the best conveyance facilities. They also boast of impressive office interiors complete with state-of-the-art technology, conferencing facilities, hot desking and round-the-clock security. Excellent for start-ups and freelancers looking for desk rental, a good way to rent office space without the implications of a long lease; made much easier by sites like Desk Space Genie. Click for more info on rent desk facilities.

Explaining the details of the scheme, the spokesperson for the Chamber and the Director of Business Development, Mr. Paul Reeves, said that the Chamber was keen to tap more and more companies in the real estate sector to expand their database. It’s On! (Free Internet TV – Watch TV Online)

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Get ready because “there’s going to be television out the wazoo!” This
according to Jonathan Klein, the president of CNN – U.S. operations in a USA Today story on the merger of the Internet and television. Major
broadcast networks, cable networks, and content providers are gearing up for the ‘mother of all media battles’ in staking out territory on the new and rising medium called “Internet TV”. Basically it’s video online, which
is not new, but what is new is that the major networks are now getting fully involved. Klein continued, “It will be pausable,
searchable, with all the customizable ‘on demand’ advantages of the Internet. It’s a future that’s not very far away” Klein did not elaborate on how long it will take, what a ‘wazoo’ is, or how a television would fit through it.

CNN has recently changed it’s Internet news business model by trashing the $5.00 per month subscription price for video, in favor of a pure advertising model. The coverage is more extensive, and finally it’s for free. The way they previously baited news junkies was unconscionable.

CNN Online: “Breaking Story: A reporter was caught with his ‘camera on’ as Marines repelled a surprise attack by al Queda in Afghanistan … click here to see video.”

Me: “click”

CNN Online: “First we need you to fill out this form and sign this contract!”

Me: “Oh…shoot me now…!”

I prefer being slowly brainwashed with banners and branding ads, than being harassed to cough up a credit card, don’t you?

CBS News which sat on the sidelines while its competitors ran the table with 24 hour cable news will not be trumped again. They recently opened up
www.cbsnews.com and is investing big bucks in beefing up the video. You can even pick the reports to customize your own newscast.

Nippon TV in Japan is a step ahead in Internet TV and will be offering pay-per-view services by the end of the year. Their marketing department has also come up with a brilliant and creative name: “The Second Nippon Television Network”.

Major
broadcasters like ABC, ESPN, Foxnews, Major League Baseball, MTV, BBC, Telemundo
and others already offer video online with a TV-ish feel but a tidal surge of
new programming is just on the horizon.

Cable TV made room for specialty
channels targeting smaller audiences such as the Golf Channel, and the 4-hanky
super-drama “Bassmaster”, now we can expect Internet TV to diversify even more.
For example, the parent company of HGTV and The Food Channel will launch 10 Internet
channels by 2006, the first one being “The Kitchen Remodel Channel.”
I kid you not. Maybe the first spinoff show will be “The Linoleum Channel”. I’m hoping for the “The Chain Link Fence Channel.”

Netflix, the online movie rental company, is in negotiations with the studios over the rights to broadcast
movie content online. Will the cable industry continue to provide the
cable modem broadband services that allow web-surfers to get movies from their competitors?
Stephen Burke, COO of Comcast believes that web video watchers only want short
clips and doesn’t see any threat to their core business by people downloading
movies. Ned Peabody, a blacksmith in 1890, also said that the horseless
carriage was a noisy smoky bucket of bolts and would never replace the
dependable horse. OK, I made that up, but I bet there was a blacksmith who
said something like that. Anyway, you get my point. If movies can be
purchased for a reasonable price, downloaded quickly, with good quality, and
played on a large monitor, how will that not take a big bite out of the “Movies
On-Demand”, and Pay Movie Channels of Comcast, Time-Warner and other cable providers?

Yes, we’re heading right into the perfect storm of four major influences
conflagrating simultaneously creating ripe conditions for a world wide sea
change!

1) Video imaging technology is coming of age. The picture is reasonably clear now on a computer or TV monitor without squinting and migraine headaches.

2) Broadband use reached 35 million users and is rising rapidly. That means that there are 40% less computer keyboards being smashed in frustration, ripped out of the computer, thrown against the wall and then kicked while the person waits endlessly for choppy video streams. (That stat may be just in my household)

3) Online advertisers are paying big time, spending 11.2 billion this year alone. Entrepreneurs like that “B” word.

4) Most importantly, video storage and streaming is now cost effective and will make a lot people rich. Or should I say, a lot of rich people, richer.

So lets review: …the mother of all media battles…the chain link fence channel…horseless carriages…and a perfect storm. “It’s On!”

Maybe one day we’ll each have our own channel. But if there’s 6 billion channels and still nothing on, what then? Maybe we can go outside, take a hike and get some exercise? Or we can get on our treadmills and watch “The Walking Channel.” Hey, that sounds like a good idea! Here’s the slogan, “Where do you want to walk today?” It’s video and sound on serene paths from all around the world. Trust me, if it’s not available now, it will be. Maybe you’re the one to do it. Send me a percentage!

Pass a Drug Test Report

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

The Verity About Passing Drug Tests

Drug testing has become a leading part of the employment action, and as such, is defined as a main aspect when seeking to ground a decent job. Regrettably, the power to pass a drug test is cramped beyond simple logistics of use bounded drugs and/or substances. The lousy truth is drug tests are not perpetually dead-on.

Urine drug tests are the most popular drug testing method. Others include hair and saliva testing, but due to toll, are not widely applied for employment roles. The problem with urine drug tests (EMIT) is they’re easily shaped by a immeasurable of household particulars from aspirin to zinc to water intake. If you’ve ever heard the byword about poppy seeds causing a positive drug test for opiates, it’s no urban myth. Artificial positives are factual.

This leads to an interesting quandary of whether or not a disguising agent is theultimate drug testing solution in that it will masquerade well-known toxins as well aspotential false problems that rise with a general urinalysis. Others willtake their chances; others shall refuse.

The main point here is it is indeed doable to your risk of an inadvertent, bogus positive by passing drug tests using a detox supplement.

Or, on the other side, I guess one can take their gamble. General operation for a positive drug test is to need a “B Sample” in for screening to confirm there wasno cross contamination, mismanaging, or other mishaps that go hand in hand amongstfalse positives.

Maybe that is sufficient to pass a drug test. The choice is up to the job hunter.

How To Take The Pain Out Of Publishing Your Ezine

Friday, June 5th, 2009

99% of all ezines are not “being a reporter” on current events; that is the first and most important thing to understand.

This means that you don’t have to be publishing your ezine one day before the “deadline” of when you’ve decided you’ll be sending it out, and going into a great tizzy over the whole thing.

Most ezines are highly topical and related to a business, a market or futher products and services of one kind or the other, and their function is to keep customers in touch, as well as to convert interested parties into customers.

This gives you a constantly “rolling” audience of old hands and newbies, and an ebb and flow of subscribers and unsubscribers.

There are certain evergreen topics in any context that you can always write about, and write about over and over again, from many different angles, and it will always be interesting and well received.

This is the key to successful ezine publishing.

It’s not so much about “news”, but about enjoyable content – and that can be as old as the hills, including a 2000 year old quote from a Roman senator; if it is interesting to your target audience, it is applicable, and it can become an ezine article.

With that understood, the production of an ezine can change, and it can become far more manageable.

Tip 1: Prepare a number of issues in advance so you have at least 3-6 in hand and ready to go, all the time. That’s what columnists do so they don’t go mad and explode from the stress of constantly trying to beat deadlines.

Tip 2: An ezine does NOT need more than ONE GOOD ARTICLE, tip, suggestion etc. In this day and age, people do not sit around with email as though it was the Times Magazine. Too long and too much content, and they’ll put it aside for later, and later never comes as you well know with your own email.

Tip 3: As you’re the publisher, you can have a flexible schedule. Base your ezine on something manageable, weekly, bi-monthly, but be flexible within this to suit yourself and take things like public holidays, major events in your market like the SuperBowl or the Olympics into consideration.

Tip 4: You can have a “news space” in your ezine which you can fill with news, or leave blank and just send out the prepared column you have already waiting to go. You don’t always have to have some amazing news item in every newsletter, that’s way too stressful (and probably even too much for your audience!)

Tip 5: Make it as easy for yourself as possible! Don’t go mad over mail merging or complicated html formatting if it’s a challenge – it isn’t necessary. There are people having fantastically successful newslists and ezines who stalwardly send in plain text, without any bells and whistles, but the content is good and it’s appreciated all around.

Tip 6: Remember your floating audience and go back to basics every third newsletter. Advanced subscribers never mind going over the basics again, and it’s essential for the new subscribers. So this may be YOUR ezine No. 266, but how many people were even there for the first 100?

Tip 7: If you are planning to have a commercial newsletter that carries advertisements, include advertisements right from the start and as a matter of course. It is the easiest thing to add a short advertisement for a book on http://Amazon.com with your own affiliate link in the “ad space section”, even if you have only 3 subscribers at present. Then, it is there, and later, when you have 3 million subscribers, you can rent out a space that already exists without disturbing your recipients or changing the format.

Tip 8: On that topic, pick a format and stick with it. That makes it MUCH easier to prepare and send newsletters on a regular basis and takes the stress right out of it. Something like: Personal greeting – Advert – Article – News – Advert, for example. That way, you just need to fill in each one and that’s easy. Customers also LIKE a format they can trust and it relieves THEIR stress, just the same.

To sum up: Make it easy for yourself with pre-prepared, ready to go, ready formatted ezines that just need a “season’s greeting” or a short topical comment to make them right up to date. Have a number of them in hand so you can take a holiday when you want to; keep it short and sweet and stick to a simple formula.

That’s what the professionals do and if you do the same, you’ll find having a top quality, interesting email newsletter or ezine that goes out on time, a breeze.
