In the mid-eighties Stephen co-founded the Blackstone Group with his business partner Peter Peterson; initially as a private equity and financial advisory business. Stephen Schwarzman served as an assistant professor at the prestigious Yale School of Management and also donates to a number of charities, education, and the arts. Further, he is the fifth Chairman to the Board of Trustees of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in New York, New York. Furthermore, Stephen just last March donated to the New York Public Library $100 million to assist in their recent building plans. He also serves on the board of trustees.
