Voice Over Training

Voice over talent encompasses all areas of voice over work. Anything you can imagine from training videos, animation and radio spots requires voice over training. Whether you have a peculiar voice that stands out, or if you are an actor with an average sounding voice that has a knack for inflections and emphasis, the proper voice over training can provide lucrative opportunities and help further your acting career. Anyone interested in becoming an actor or becoming involved in the entertainment industry should consider receiving voice over training. A voiceover career may be simpler to begin than you can believe.

One of the fundamentals of voice over training is proper annunciation. Did the wind blow or did the toy wind up. Is Mr. Stein holding a beer stein? Because pronuciation can vary by area it is important to verify the copy before you begin recording. Some producers will furnish a guide with the intended way to pronounce certain common or unusual words, and first and last names that may be problematic. If you are not offered these guidelines along with your script, then it is your duty as voice over talent to recap and affirm the script. A quick read through will straighten out any possible issues so that the job can be completed in as few takes as possible and so that you can develop a reputation of professionalism and dependability.

Flashpoint is a Canadian police drama television series that debuted on July 11, 2008, on CTV in Canada and CBS in the United States. The series is broadcast on the French-language network TQS in Quebec since March 9, 2009. The show was created by Mark Ellis and Stephanie Morgenstern and stars Enrico Colantoni, Amy Jo Johnson and Hugh Dillon.

Flashpoint is about an elite tactical unit, called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), within a Canadian metropolitan police force (styled on the Toronto Police Emergency Task Force). The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers are not trained to handle including hostage-taking, bomb threats and heavily armed criminals. It is an emotional journey following the lives of members of the SRU (Strategic Response Unit) as they solve hostage situations, bust gangs, and defuse bombs.

The show is about a team of cops that work for the SRU (strategic response unit), they are the ones that go out and are in charge of securing parameters when people are being taken hostage or if a kidnapped child is found as well as several other cases. The team consits of Sgt. Gregory Parker (Enrico Colantoni), the field leader of the team. Further in the team are Ed Lane (Hugh Dillon), Julianna “Jules” Callaghan (Amy Jo Johnson), Sam Braddock (David Paetkau), who is the new guy on the team. Then there are Lou “Lewis” Young (Mark Taylor), Mike ‘Spike’ Scarlatti (Sergio Di Zio), Kevin ‘Wordy’ Wordsworth (Michael Cram). This are the men and women in the Strategic Response Unit who make Toronto safe with the hope of diffusing the situation safely and using force only as a last resort
