TTwo Types of Toxins that Adversely Affect Your Health

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

What the body interprets as a toxin is one of two types — exotoxins (toxins that come from outside the body) or endotoxins (toxins that develop within the body).

An exotoxin is generally any one of tens of thousands of agricultural, industrial or household chemical substances that we are exposed to in our day-to-day life. To some point, we are able to control and restrain our vulnerability to these types of toxins. The types of products and produce we buy is one area of our lives where we can be in almost complete control. Recently, more retailers are supplying high quality cleaning and personal care products that are toxin-free.

Endotoxins are far more challenging to control. These are the by-products of our body’s normal metabolic processes. An endotoxin can be a digestive waste product, antibodies, hormones and cellular material whose constituents need to be excreted.

Many of us who live in urban societies today meet an increasing degree of toxic overload. Though our body is fit to handle the detoxification and elimination of endotoxins, the body is not able to deal with the increasing number of exotoxins that we consume through our air, food, beverages, cleaning products and personal care products.

As much as we may try to avoid environmental toxins, the ability to do so is very problematical. We are simply exposed to an overwhelming number and diversity of chemicals that are completely foreign, if not really detrimental, to the body. Uncomplicated ways we can trim our exposure to toxins is to purchase natural, organic personal care and cleaning products, and to always purchase organic produce when possible.

As well as minimizing our exposure to dietary and environmental toxins, we can do a lot toward assisting the body’s normal detoxification operations. Doing a monthly body detox program will cleanse your body and do much to subdue the physiological burden on your body that toxicity causes.

Eating Disorders Do Not Discriminate

Who suffers from Eating Disorders?

Eating Disorder sufferers are male and female alike. We are of all ethnicity’s, religions, and economic backgrounds. We are of all ages, with very different body structures. We can look
normal on the outside and yet be suffering terribly on the inside.

Genetics, Psychology, and Media all influence the onset of an eating disorder. Once we get caught in the cycle, some days it seems as though we will never break free. We constantly beat ourselves up, every moment of every hour of every day. If we could just be perfect in some way then we would be ok. It is easier to stand alone, free from the rejection, and disappointment of others. In our loneliness we listen to the constant torment inside our heads.

You are stupid! You can’t do anything right! Why would anyone want to be your friend? You are so fat! No one ever is going to want you! Who would ever love you?

Every sufferer has her or his own negative voices. We try to out run them in anyway we can.We, so badly, want to be in control of our lives. Our Eating Disorder is the one thing we have control over, or so it seems. After some time, even our eating disorder becomes out of control. We may become depressed, defensive, angry, hopeless, self harming and some of us may become suicidal.

So, we isolate ourselves, blocked off from the world. One more lap, onemore sit up, one more pound, and yet that one more is never enough. We weigh ourselves over and over and over again, thinking that the numbers will change.

We stop eating, constantly overeat, binge,or cut. We use laxatives, enemas, drugs, and alcohol. We lock ourselves in the bathroom to purge, and we exercise, exercise, and yet still
exercise. THERE IS HELP! THERE IS HOPE!DO NOT WAIT UNTIL IT IS TOO LATE.
